The thought of your new puppy flying in an airplane can be quite intimidating. However, it's not as scary as it seems. They will travel in their own airline approved carrier, provided by us, and be secured closed with zip ties as they go through security at the airport. Your puppy will fly with puppy food available to them if they need it, and the airline will provide them with water if the flight is lengthy. I provide the food/water dish for them that clips to the inside of their carrier along with all of the documents required to travel. We strive for direct flights only, and only on a very seldom occasion do we use connecting flights if that is all that is available. The most frequently asked question I get is "do they fly with the luggage?" And the answer is no. They fly in a designated area just for live animal cargo that is temperature controlled. Our number one priority is the safety and health of our puppies and seek to make travel as easy for them as possible. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about the process!
I don't know about you, but I am looking forward to green grass and warm mornings. I could also use the longer daylight hours, for sure. However, with spring flowers brings ticks and fleas. Here, we love Advantage Multi for this. It's a once monthly topical application you can get from your vet. It is important in the prevention of heart worms as well, which is huge. If a topical application isn't your style, there are many other good options to choose from! Always consult your vet before starting any regimen with your animal, they know best. But remember to have the conversation before pests are a problem! Your pet will thank you.
