Temperature Requirements When Flying

Airplane over snow covered mountains

It's starting to get cold here in Oklahoma. Sometimes this means flights will be delayed. TSA requires the temperature to be between 20-85 degrees at the time of departure and arrival. Not to be confused with the highs and lows of the day, just when the puppy is taking off and landing. This is not an airplane issue, as the area they are boarded in is temperature controlled. This has to do with the acclimation of the puppy. We use DFW and it doesn't often dip below 20 degrees, although occasionally it does. This is more of a concern when I am flying a puppy to one of the northern states in the wintertime. American Airlines will refuse any live animal boarding if the temperatures are not within a safe range.
