Registering your puppy is considered part of the process of owning your puppy. You wouldn't make a significant purchase on anything else without registering it to yourself and the same can be said for your new best friend. This is the official documentation of ownership, and your puppy's microchip number can even be recorded with the OEPBR. I always say it's better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.
