
Please be sure to provide your outdoor pets with a warm spot during the winter. The cold front that is about to hit America will be bitter cold and probably wet for most of us.
Yes, they are wearing a coat, but in these conditions it's just not enough, especially for senior dogs and pups. A warm dry shelter is the minimum they need if they are not allowed indoors. A heat lamp, a heating pad, a wind block and a dry roof are best if indoor options are not available. And remember, one of the most important things you can provide your animal other than what I just listed is access to water at all times. Hydrated, warm and dry is the goal (and a full belly, of course). It doesn't take long for a water pan to ice over in these temps, so check it often.Â
